Guide to REAP Entrance Exam for B.Tech.
Rajasthan
Engineering Admission Process (REAP) is the entrance exam organised by Centre
of Electronic Governance (CEG) Rajasthan on behalf of Rajasthan Technical
University (RTU) each year to grant admission to students aspiring to pursue bachelor’s
degree in various disciplines engineering from RTU affiliated Colleges in
Rajasthan. The entire process of B.Tech.RTU admission is quite simple and quick. To make it easier; we got you a
simple guide that explains the entire admission process. Follow the steps
mentioned-below is you are an aspirant.
1- Eligibility: - First and foremost, students must make sure that they are eligible for filling REAP form. Some common eligibility requirements are-
· Candidate must have cleared JEE mains exam.
· Candidate must have cleared XII class with at-least 40% marks from a recognised school under CBSE or RBSE.
· Compulsory subjects in XII class are Physics and Mathematics.
· Other than this, there are few restrictions related to age, medical fitness, and domicile and seat reservation.
2- Admission Form: - REAP admission form is release every year during May end or June beginning. The form requires basic details of candidates and can be filled online on the official website of RTU. The form fee for the year 2019 was Rs. 700 which varies each year and depends on the category in which the student belongs.
3- Allotment: - Once the form is filled, RTU declares three consecutive lists of seat allotment based on candidates score in XII and JEE mains. The first list is usually declared within 2 weeks of the last date of form filling.
4- Counselling: - Once students are allotted a seat in their desired discipline in Colleges as per their rank, students are required to appear for a counselling session with College faculty members. After the counselling sessions, students are required to deposit documents and fees as per RTU norms. REAPCounselling 2019 was also successfully completed after filling seats of maximum Colleges. Students must also note that admission to MNIT, BITS and other deemed Colleges is not done through REAP.
5- Upward Movement: - Candidates from Rajasthan are given this special provision of upward movement in consecutive rounds of seat allotment. This option gives candidates a chance to shift to a College with a better ranking in RTU and get a discipline of their preference in case of vacant seats.
